Starting Off a Long Term Link Building Campaign

Experience shows that there are two types of links that stand out as being especially valuable.

When you start off a long term link building campaign it is important to consider these carefully.

The first is PR Link Building which basically means linking a short article about your subject/company to as many of the important social networking sites, article posting and PR sites.

When you post these they will have a link back to your website within the article and this will count as a valuable inbound link.

Choose the sites carefully once you have gone for the obvious ones such as Facebook, Delicious, My Space, Digg, Mr. Wong etc.

After this post on the article sites and the PR sites, of which there are many with varying rules and regulations as to what they will accept.

If you wish to register for free use of a Link Building Software to be launched at the beginning of 2009 go to the enquiries page of CWA Europe.

The second type of Link Building which is also considered to be of a higher value is inbound links from well ranked websites, with some keyword relevancy.

So take for example your website has a page on Garden Tools, then it would be relevant to have inbound links coming from all garden related websites with a good page rank.

Talking about page rank, be very careful not to have outbound links (you linking to another website) to websites that may be considered low quality or worse still have been banned.

This is a real no-no as the search engines can really downgrade your website for choosing to link to the wrong kind of websites.

Finally make sure that for your inbound links you don’t link to irrelevant web pages.

It is worth taking the time to do keyword research to generate the right potential websites to approach and also a little bit of lateral thinking never goes amiss!
